Travel Terms & Conditions

1. Booking and Confirmation

To make a booking, the party leader (aged 18 or over) must complete the booking form on behalf of all participants. By booking, the party leader confirms they are authorised to act for all members of the party and accepts these conditions.
Once the required deposit has been received, a booking confirmation will be issued. At this point, a binding contract exists between you and the Operator.

2. Payment

  • Deposit: 50% of the total tour price is required 120 days before departure to secure your booking.

  • Balance: Remaining 50% must be paid at least 60 days before departure.

  • Higher Deposit: The Operator may require a higher deposit; you will be informed at the time of booking.

  • Late Payment: Failure to make payments on time may result in cancellation of your booking in line with the Operator’s cancellation terms.

3. Changes and Cancellation by You

All change or cancellation requests must be made in writing (by email). Minor changes may incur an administration fee of AUD $50 per change plus any costs charged by the Operator.

If you cancel your booking, cancellation charges will apply as follows:

  • More than 120 days before departure: 20% of the tour price

  • Between 120 and 60 days before departure: 50% of the tour price

  • Between 59 and 30 days before departure: 80% of the tour price

  • Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of the tour price

Travel insurance may cover cancellation costs depending on your policy.
A transfer of booking to another person may be possible if requested at least 7 days before departure and subject to completion of new booking forms and acceptance by the Operator.

4. Changes or Cancellation by the Operator

The Operator may make changes to the itinerary due to weather, safety, or operational reasons. Minor changes do not entitle you to a refund.
If significant changes are made, you may accept the changes, accept an alternative arrangement (with price adjustment if applicable), or request a refund.
If the minimum number of participants is not met, the Operator may cancel the tour. In such cases, your payment will be refunded, but Kangaroo Nomads is not responsible for any additional expenses (such as flights).

5. Insurance

  • Requirement: Adequate travel insurance is mandatory for all participants.

  • Coverage: Your policy must include:

    • Medical costs

    • Personal liability

    • Trip cancellation

    • Activities included in the tour

  • Adventure Activities: Horse riding and other adventure activities carry inherent risks and may not be covered by standard travel insurance. You are responsible for ensuring your policy covers these activities.

  • Proof: Insurer name and policy number must be provided before departure.

6. Liability

Operator’s Liability – The Operator is responsible for delivering the tour in accordance with their own terms, applicable laws, and standards of the destination country.

Limitations of Liability – Kangaroo Nomads acts only as a facilitator and does not accept responsibility for the performance of the Operator or third-party suppliers. Our responsibility is limited to accurately communicating information and handling your booking.

We accept no liability for indirect or consequential losses (including business losses).

7. Behaviour

You are expected to respect local customs, the Operator’s instructions, other participants, and third parties. The Operator may refuse participation or remove individuals from the tour due to unsafe, disrespectful, or disruptive behaviour without refund.
You are responsible for any damage caused by you and must compensate the Operator directly.

8. Baggage and Personal Items

Travel involves risks of loss or damage to luggage, particularly in remote or wilderness areas. Neither Kangaroo Nomads nor the Operator accepts liability for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

9. Health and Safety

You must disclose accurate information about your health, fitness, and skill level (e.g., riding experience). The Operator has the right to refuse participation if your ability or condition poses a risk to yourself, others, or animals.
Adventure travel, including horse riding, involves inherent risks of injury or death. By booking, you accept these risks.

10. Complaints

Any problems should be raised immediately with the Operator so they can be resolved on-site. If unresolved, you may contact Kangaroo Nomads, who will assist within the limits of our facilitation role.
If you remain dissatisfied, you must submit your complaint in writing within 28 days of return.

11. Passports, Visas and Health Requirements

It is your responsibility to ensure you hold a valid passport, visas (if required), and meet health requirements (e.g., vaccinations). Any costs or losses resulting from failure to comply are your responsibility.

12. Photography and Media
